Season of the Witch by Sophie H. Morgan
A Spellbinding Holiday Romance That Has It All—Even in August!
Usually, holiday romances aren’t my go-to reads in the middle of summer, but Season of the Witch completely changed that for me. Despite reading it in August, this book delivered everything I wanted from a festive witch romance—and then some. The only downside? I didn’t realize it was the third book in the Toil and Trouble series, so now I’m scrambling to catch up on the first two because I’m hooked and need more, ASAP!
Meet Tia Hightower, the determined heiress of the Hightower company. Her biggest challenge? Her ex-boyfriend-turned-rival, Henry Pearlmatter, who’s now not only working alongside her but also competing fiercely for the CEO spot after their families merged their businesses. Their rivalry is intense, and when they face off in a potion-making competition, Tia slyly tweaks her potion—only to cause Henry to lose all memories related to her.
Cue chaos.
The situation becomes even more complicated when they’re caught in a compromising position in front of a potential new investor. To save face—and the company—they must spend the holidays pretending to be the perfect couple at the investor’s London estate. But with Henry’s memory wiped clean and eight years of history—including a messy breakup—between them, things get complicated fast. How can Henry hate Tia when he doesn’t even remember their past? And can Tia trust this new version of Henry who feels like a stranger yet so familiar? Most importantly, what happens if he regains his memories—and the pain they carry? This book had me completely under its spell. The tension? Electric. The spice? Sizzling. The banter? Sharp and addictive. Beyond the steamy romance, there are genuinely heartwarming moments—like a playful snowball fight—that brought tears to my eyes. The family dynamics and emotional depth made this more than just a holiday romance; it felt real and relatable in a way I didn’t expect from this genre.
If you’re looking for a perfect holiday read packed with magic, romance, and heartfelt moments, Season of the Witch is it. And if you haven’t yet discovered Sophie H. Morgan’s work, now’s the perfect time to dive into the Toil and Trouble series—starting from book one!
