The Guest Book by Mae Marvel
Sometimes the treasure you seek isn’t the one you find…
I absolutely loved this novel. It was such a fun, heartfelt read, and the character banter was genuinely delightful. After the death of her mother, the famous Phoebe Frank, Cosima decides to visit Gregory Place in England—a spot her mother had always wanted to share with her. Fulfilling that wish posthumously sets the stage for everything that follows.
While there, she meets Edie Whitelock, who couldn’t be more different from the stars and executives Cosima grew up around. The two are swept into an epic treasure hunt, and as the story puts it, "sometimes the treasure you seek isn't the one you find." Their sapphic romance pulled me in completely. I adored the chemistry between Cosima and Edie—their communication, their openness, and the way they learn to understand each other without asking the other to compromise who they are.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised by how spicy some of the scenes were!
A fantastic read from start to finish. Truly—no notes.
I received this as an ARC on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
